Ruth Bucholz, 101, of Cando, ND, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at the Towner County Living Center in Cando, ND. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Rock Lake, ND with Pastor Bonnie Weaver, officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rock Lake, ND.

Mother, Ruth Wolter-Bucholz was born April 14, 1921 to John and Annie Woltor at Camrose, Alberta, Canada.

She came to the United States with her family when she was 3 years old; residing in the Rock Lake area where she received her education.

In 1941, she was united in marriage to Virgil Bucholz of Calvin, North Dakota.  They farmed in the Perth, North Dakota area where she resided for the next 60 years, moving to Cando in 2001.  She spent about 30 years going to Mesa, Arizona for winter.

She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and active in church activities along with United Methodist Women (UMW).

She loved to bake for her family and many others.  She was an avid quilter and made many, many for her family.  It was a passion.

Mother Ruth is survived by 3 children: Marvin (Marilyn) of Elephant Butte, NM, Donald of Bisbee, North Dakota and Rebecca French of Greeley, Colorado.  She also has 8 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Virgil, 3 sisters and her son Robbie.
