Sadie Ethel Nelson, 97, of Cando, ND passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Towner County Medical Center in Cando, ND. Services will be held Monday, April 20, 2015 at 2:00 PM at United Methodist Church, Cando, ND with Rev. Rick Craig officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from noon until the time of the service. Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Cando, ND. Casket bearers will be Bruce Klingenberg, Norman Klingenberg, Corby Niemeyer, Christopher Niemeyer, Mitch Englund and Melvin Klingenberg. Music will be provided by Roberta Mundahl and Catherine Anfinson.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.

Sadie Ethel Robertson was born July 18, 1917 in Pillager, MN to Robert and Ethel (Montgomery) Robertson. She graduated from Cando High school in 1934. On May 8, 1938 she was united in marriage to Efner O. Nelson in Cando, ND. The couple moved to Grand Forks in 1957. Efner worked on the minuteman missile bases. The couple moved several times across the country for Efner's job. In 1970 the couple returned to Cando. Sadie worked at the Towner County Courthouse until her retirement in 1980. Efner passed away in 1975. Sadie remained in Cando until the time of her death. She liked playing cards, knitting, sewing, crocheting, gardening, watching birds and bowling.

Sadie is survived by her children Judith (Lyle) Niemeyer of Brainerd, MN; Lotty (Jerry) Englund of East Grand Forks, MN; Kim (Jean) Nelson of Cando, ND; Grandchildren Kelly Jo Larson, Corby Niemeyer,
Christopher Niemeyer, Rachel Cummings, Mitch Englund, Marnie Fawver, Heather Schroder, Kimberlee Nelson and Brandee Nelson; Step-Grandchildren Jim, Chad and Jason Murphy, Derek Englund, Samantha Silbernagel; six great-grandchildren and sisters Gladyce Cartwright and Charlotte Crawford both of Midland, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six sisters, one brother, one granddaughter and one great-grandson.
