Sandra D. Rader, 69, Cando, ND, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at the Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cando, ND at 11:00 AM with Fr. Joseph D'Aco officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Cando, ND. Pall Bearers will be David Rader, Shaelynn Tofte, Brandon Tofte, Jeff "Jeffie" Krick, Josh Quick and Charles Kingzett. Music will be provided by Patty Cote and Marla Luehring.
Due to allergies, please refrain from wearing any perfumes, lotions, colognes, etc. to the funeral service. Thanks.
Sandra Delaine (Quick) Rader was born September 29, 1945 in Cando, ND. She was the first child born to Bill and Lorraine (Strand) Quick Sr. She was the oldest of five siblings. Sandra was born and raised in Cando and graduated from Cando Public School. Sandra married Robert Rader on October 5, 1963. Out of this union they had three children.
Sandra was a homemaker. She made awesome lefse and loved to cook and bake. In her younger years, she and Robert would get together with Paulette and John and play many games of pinochle. She taught CCD for a number of years. She also cleaned the church rectory for a number of years. She loved planting and taking care of her flowers. Later on, she would go with Robert and help him on his carpet laying jobs until cancer changed her life. Sandra was also a proud grandma to Brandon and Shaelynn. They were her pride and joy.
Sandra is survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert; children: Lisa (Dale) Tofte, Devils Lake, ND, Jodie Rader, Cando, ND and David Rader, Devils Lake, ND; grandchildren: Brandon (special friend Brooke Darling) and Shaelynn Tofte, Devils Lake, ND; siblings: Paulette (John) Krick, Fargo, ND, Bill (Cindy) Quick Jr., Dennison, TX, Jeri (Karen) Quick, Roseville, MN, Lorri (Kelly) Kingzett, Elm Lake, SD; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Lorraine Quick Sr; grandparents, Edward and Pauline Strand and James and Katie Quick.
