T ravis Charles Bursinger, 48, Grand Forks, North Dakota, died on September 12, 2020. Services will be held in both Grand Forks and Bisbee. The service in Grand Forks will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday September 17, 2020 at University Lutheran Church, 2122 University Avenue, Grand Forks with a visitation at 10 a.m. at the church. The service in Bisbee will be held on Friday, September 18, 2020 at Bisbee Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Masks are required for Bisbee Lutheran Church.  Private family burial will be held at the Bisbee Lutheran Cemetery.

Due to Covid-19, the following CDC recommendations are highly encouraged: social distancing, hand cleansing and sanitization, and wearing masks. Please stay home if you are not feeling well or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19.

Travis was born at Rolette, North Dakota on September 29, 1971 to Carol (Bishop) and Charles Bursinger.  He was raised in Bisbee, North Dakota and graduated from Bisbee-Egeland High School in 1990 where he was a member of the Class B State Basketball Championship team in 1989.  He continued his education and basketball career at Mayville State University, graduating with a degree in Business in 1995.

In 2001, he was united in marriage to Lisa Gierszewski at Drayton Lutheran Church.  They made their home and raised their children, Landen and Talen, in Grand Forks, ND.  Travis worked at Scheels, Rydell's Service Center, and most recently ran the family farm in Bisbee.

Travis enjoyed hunting with his sons, father, brother, and nephew as well as trips to Alaska with his father and brother. Travis's passion for basketball stretched from his younger years as a player, to watching his boys play, as well as cheering on their favorite teams together. He appreciated classic cars and owned a 1979 Trans Am 10th anniversary edition.

Travis instilled a strong work ethic in his boys which his father taught him. He worked hard as a young man, helping to build the terminal in Bisbee and working alongside his father in the family well drilling business and on the farm. Travis loved the outdoors and spent many hours shed hunting with his boys and his brother as well as going for long country cruises with his wife, family, and friends to look for wildlife, talk, and have other fun.

Travis is survived by his wife of 19 years Lisa and their sons Landen (15) and Talen (12), Grand Forks; his mother Carol of Bisbee; in-laws Tom and Doreen (Knudson) Steenerson, Grand Forks; in-laws Lawrence and Sherry Gierszewski, Grand Forks; brothers-in-law Devin Gierszewski (Alesha), Portland; Brady Steenerson, Grand Forks; Tyson Gierszewski, Grand Forks; sister-in-law Amy Gierszewski, Grand Forks; nieces and nephews Kyler and Kelsey Bursinger; Justin, Paytn, Preslie and Paris Gierszewski; Myles, Ty, and Rhett Gierszewski.

He was preceded in death by his father Charlie Bursinger, brother Kelly Bursinger, brother-in-law Travis Gierszewski, grandparents Leo and Cora (Christopherson) Bursinger, and Nick and Frances (Wilkie) Bishop.
