Verna Faye Vetter, 76, of Cando, ND passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Towner County Medical Center in Cando, ND. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 11:00 am at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Cando, ND with Pastor Rick Craig officiating.
Casket Bearers will be Walter Ashenfelter, Tim Learned, Bob Weltin, Brett Dilley, Marc Vetter and Steve Vetter.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Uffda Fund for Animals, PO Box 426, Cando, ND 58324.

Verna Faye was born January 17, 1939 in Mentor, MN to Flossie (Abbott) and Walter Ashenfelter. Her family moved to Cando, ND when she was a young girl and she graduated from the Cando High School in 1957. Upon graduating, she was employed at the Baker Electric Coop Inc. in Cando, ND where she met her husband, Isadore "Issy" Vetter. The two were married on April 20, 1963 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cando, ND.

Verna was a homemaker and babysitter for nearly 40 years; watching many children out of the comfort of her own home. Isadore "Issy" passed away May 15, 2011.

Verna is survived by her sons: Marc (Brenda Campbell) of Cando, ND and Steven (Pam Halverson) of Mekinock, ND; grandchildren: Shauna, Brett, Codi and Kelsi; great grandchildren: Allie, Nathan, Dylan, Dakota, Aimee, Aiden, Bret Jr., Emrie, Cambrine and Arebelle.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Isadore "Issy"; brothers, Walt, Virgil and infant Albert; sisters, Veda and Neva; and great nephew, Jordan.
