Obituary

Violet Casey, 71, of Cando, ND passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Sanford Health in Fargo. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, April 27, 2015 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cando, ND at 11:00 AM with Fr. Joseph D'Aco officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Ashley City Cemetery in Ashley, ND on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 1:00 PM. Pall bearers will be Blake Casey, Joshua Casey, Tucker Baker, Connor Baker, Aaron Clarksean and Scott Kastel. Honorary bearers will be Doug Baker, Chad Ehnert, Breydin Ehnert and Hunter Kastel. Music will be provided by Gladys Fluge, Tom Freund and the Sacred Heart Choir.

Violet Heupel was born December 2, 1943 in Wishek, ND to Fred and Elizabeth (Erbele) Heupel. She grew up on a farm in Ashley and graduated from Ashley High School. The family moved to Forbes, ND in 1973. Violet was the secretary of the Forbes High School and also worked at the local grocery store. The family moved to Cando in 1987 and Violet worked at Noodles by Leonardo for a few years then started to work at Bobs Super Value and Supermarket Foods until the time of her death. Violet was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cando.

Violet is survived by her children; Francis (Pat) Casey of Forbes, ND; Deborah (Douglas) Baker of Webster, ND; Donna (Aaron) Clarksean of Clear Lake, MN; Amanda (Scott) Kastel of Baldwin, WI and Alisha (Chadley) Ehnert of Devils Lake, ND; grandchildren: Blake (Amanda) Casey of Tyrone, OK; Erica Birdsley of Gillette, WY; Joshua Casey of Rapid City, SD; Tucker Baker of Grand Forks, ND; Connor Baker of Fargo, ND; Stephanie Hotten of Fordville, ND; Samantha Clarksean of Clear Lake,, MN; Kylie Kastel of Baldwin, WI; Hunter Kastel of Baldwin, WI; Morgan Ehnert of Devils Lake, ND and Breydin Ehnert of Devils Lake, ND; step-grandchildren: Sonya Trehus of Grand Forks, ND and Sandra Belgarde of St. John, ND; seven great-grandchildren; brothers: Walter Heupel of Ashley, ND; Edwin Heupel of Fargo, ND; Raymond (Sylvia) Heupel of Fargo, ND; Clarence (Virginia Kamoni) Heupel of Jamestown, ND; sisters: Esther Buck of Bismarck, ND; Emma (Lowell) Spitzer of Valley City, ND and Judy (Eddie) Sadek of Rio Linda, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Leonard, sister Virginia Heupel, sister-in-law Patty Heupel and brother-in-law Leslie Buck.
