Wayne Eldon Newman, 96, of Cando, ND passed away on Friday, April 3, 2020 at the Towner County Living Center in Cando. A graveside service will be held at a later date at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Cando. Condolences can be sent to Wayne Newman Family, P.O. Box 888, Cando, ND 58324.

Wayne Eldon Newman was born November 24, 1923 to Albert and Venla (Halverson) Newman in Cando. He attended country school and later attended Hanson Mechanical Trade School in Fargo, ND. He went to Herlong, CA and worked a couple years. Wayne then came back to North Dakota, where he farmed for several years, which he enjoyed very much. Wayne was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever needed, but didn't expect anything in return. Wayne was also involved in getting A & W Standard of Cando established.  After retiring in Cando, he enjoyed his morning coffee at Gordy's with his friends. It was quite an adjustment for Wayne when he had to give up his dog, Tina.  He entered Towner County Living Center in November of 2018.

Wayne is survived by many nieces and nephews: Arlen & Sandra Nelsen, Georgine Blegen, Florine & Joe Seil, Doran & Lori Nelsen, Clarence & Bonnie Nelson, Kevin & Sheila Nelsen, Rob & Jody Nelsen and several second cousins.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, sister Nyla and Owen Blegen (Georgine's husband).
