W.D. "Bill" Johnson, 99, of Cando, ND passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the Towner County Medical Center in Cando. Services will be held Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 1:00 PM at United Methodist Church, Cando, ND with Rev. Rick Craig officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Cando, ND. Casket bearers will be Nicholas Schulz, Erik Johnson, Jesse Boyd and Lucas Kindseth. Music will be provided by Karen Braaten and Lynette Lybeck.

Bill was born October 3, 1915 to George and Johanna (Restad) Johnson in Minneapolis, MN, where he was raised and graduated from high school. He married Marjorie Hansen on December 15, 1937 at Cando.
While working for First Bank Stock Corporation, they lived in Minneapolis, Cando, Grand Forks, Jamestown and Minot. They returned to Cando in 1967, where Bill became the President of the newly opened Towner County State Bank. Upon retirement in 1979, they moved to Sedona, AZ, returning to Cando in 1983.

He is survived by a son, Kent, Ridgefield, WA; daughter, Meredith Schulz, Rugby; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Marjorie, brothers, Roald, Gerald and Art.
